My work explores the relationship between humans and other animals, especially in connection to transhumanism, evolution, hybrids and biotechnology. Through my hybrid creatures I investigate the potential outcomes of humans trying to control evolution through genetic manipulation and scientific tampering with the species boundaries.
I draw inspiration from Darwinism, dioramas, natural history illustration and taxidermy and take great pleasure in imagining and representing the postmodern animal. My practice includes hand screenprinted wallpapers, book works and fine art prints using water-based acrylic inks, pure pigments and metallic glazes.
I have a BA (First-class Honours) degree in Fine Art Printmaking from The University of Brighton, 2011.
